About RaymondTheBrave

I was about 22 years old and had a good career in IT as a lead programmer. However I thought, was this all life was about? Working, eating, playing sport and sleeping. So I started to search for something more in life. I must state at this time I had never been to church in any form as my parents were not religious at all. I had no idea about Christianity at all. I read furiously about the history of the world and about all religions of the world. I looked at karate and yoga and still felt no stirring in my heart.

My blog is mainly for Christians to equip them in their walk with God. We need to renew our minds so we act and think more like Jesus. We must have a special intimate relationship with our Father God as that is what He wants. Out of that flows everything else.

I came across a couple of old Christian books; one was called the Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsay. This intrigued me. The others were about Jesus and what he taught. I started to read the bible. Initially I could not really understand what it was saying, but I knew in my heart that there was truth here. So I continued to read the bible and other Christian teaching books. A well known Teacher and Evangelist came to Johannesburg in August 1984. They held the tent meeting at the show grounds at night. So one night I went by myself in the rain. I sat at the back of the meeting by myself and listened to the message. I don’t remember what he preached on but I felt something touch me deep inside. So when at the end of the service they asked who wanted to accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour I put up my hand and then they asked us to walk up to the front of the meeting with lots of people watching. He prayed a simple prayer and then they led us off to a side tent where we were individually spoken to explaining what had just happened. I spirit had been recreated anew and I was born again as Nicodemus was told by Jesus.

I felt a peace and a joy which could not be explained. I felt clean and that I had come home. I no longer felt insignificant, but loved and I had a meaning for my life.

I did not know anything about sin and the other Christian terms but I knew for sure that I has been changed inside forever which no one could take away or dissuade me. From that time I sought God with all my heart and soul. The mind is the battlefield where we try and understand God which we cannot. It takes a step of faith like me putting up my hand and walking forward. Faith is believing what Gods says is true without having any evidence but that which is in your heart saying “YES”.

Since then much has changed in the world, with the advent of Information Technology (computers) available to everyone on the planet.  People are stressed and seem to have no time for family or friends. We need to make time for people and not judge them at all. Illness seems to be everywhere in various forms. I believe that lifestyle has a major impact on our health, this is not a cliché as I have proved it. The quality of our food is important and not the quantity. We all need to eat less but a diet that allows our bodies to heal itself or keep us from getting ill in the first place. Although medical science has progressed exponentially in knowledge and technical skills we still have many people sick and dying. Medical science will never know fully how the human body works.

I was diagnosed with CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) over 6 years ago and I am expecting my healing to come. The illness first started showing its symptoms some 15 years ago, but I did not recognise it then. I would sleep at my desk at work or in the car in the car park. I would sleep all weekend. My mental facilities deteriorated over time, which I needed as a Senior IT Consultant performing at the time, software support for an International company.  I had divorced in 1995 which had a much larger impact on the life than I realised. Working hard etc. Finally caused my brain to close down. I also had emotional issues to deal with and the impact of my childhood and on my understanding of people and the world.

I want to cover doctrines and questions about the Bible and God that I believe will help Christians understand seemingly difficult subjects. These I hope will help with their faith so it is not undermined by questions and the onslaught from the world. I want to put truth, facts and figures into the hands of followers of Jesus Christ. We need to be able explain what we believe and help any real God seeking person on difficult questions.

I have 2 children born 1989 (Amy) and born 1991 (Luke). I have not been their real dad since they were 5 and 3 years old.

I have a great wife Sarah who has made such an impact on my life in all my weak areas.

I love people and sharing information and want to help in any way I can.

I have managed large teams of people as as IT Manger at major international organisations /companies and have learnt some very hard lessons over many years and hope I can share information which will help you not make the same mistakes. I have worked in the Middle East, Australia, UK, Canada, Egypt and South Africa.

I want to posts Blogs that cover a variety of Biblical and other subjects from men and women who I view as trustworthy and searching for the truth. I enjoy the Word of God coming alive as you see what God and Jesus are saying to us and have done for all of us, normally without us knowing.

I would encourage everyone to take the time to read this article and all my other articles to the end, even if you do it over a month for example. We as followers of Christ perish, due to lack of power and authority due to lack of knowledge. God has raised up men and women in the body of Christ that have been anointed to study the Word of God and have revelation about certain areas of the bible and we must take advantage. Paul’s letters were sent around to many cities and have been a major basis for the New Testament.

Being a Christian is not inherited as God does not have any grandchildren. Each individual has to make a decision to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and saviour as we are all sinners and need a Saviour.

God Bless and I hope you learn something from my posts/articles. If you would like some information on other related subjects then please let me know.

Touching story. Interestingly enough my father and I went to the library last night and ended up talking about the very disease you have (I didn’t know you did until now) I’ll be sure to keep you in my prayers!!!

Your two most recent posts regarding Lucifer showed up on my tracked tag, and I was rather disappointed that there was no comment box! I think your articles could have spurred some rather interesting discussions. You’re not the only person that I’ve seen trying to make connections between Lucifer and secular music, which I find rather curious as a theistic Luciferian myself. While you are of course entitled to your own opinion on the matter, my experiences would seem to invalidate your theory. I listen to and use Christian music frequently in my devotionals, not just in homage to Lu but because I genuinely enjoy it. Just because he rebelled against your god doesn’t mean he has to stand against everything your faith represents, and quite frankly I’ve come to find that there seem to be an awful lot of similarities between my faith and Christianity.

Also, the whole issue about artists declaring their allegiance to Lucifer or selling their soul to the devil is rather silly. A lot of the time it’s a publicity stunt, they probably haven’t even researched enough to know that there’s a difference between ‘Satanism’ and ‘Luciferianism’, in which Satanism is a largely atheistic belief system.

I know there’s a lot of misrepresentation about my faith out there, and I would just appreciate it if in the future you could speak to one of us directly about our beliefs and our practices rather than adding to the media hype about us. Hi AwakenInLight, I will respond as soon as possible via email. I am not familiar with Luciferianism although I have heard of it. I want to respond from a Christian perspective after I know more about what you believe as Luciferian. I have already read a number of your posts and find what you have said interesting. I love communicating with people with other beliefs systems and understand what you believe and why.

Is Lu a short form of Lucifer?

        I’m from the US.

My avatar is a painting by Nykolai Aleksander of Lucifer as depicted in the fiction novel Convivium by Andrew Maugham. There isn’t any deeper meaning to the background, if anything it’s to keep the symmetry of the image for aesthetic purposes.

Do you mean strange and maybe off the wall? Some of the post I make are meant to be provocative and I dont always agree with their contents, however I do re-visit post when I can and make amendments to try and ensure that it is Gods truth that is shared for the body of Christ. The article on Satan and Music is very close to my heart as I have had some experience in this area. An amazing Christian drummer came to my local church and demonstrated how based upon beat, tempo and technique he could make us feel different emotions and make us feel high or low or angry. If you look at the whole world music is the largest single common language used by 5-25 year old children and young adults and they spend lots of money and the bands etc. become gods and control what they think about life and many subjects. There is a song that is about mins long and has 25 swear words in it and the kids love it.
      Blessings Raymond.
PS Please let me know if you disagree with something in a post or the whole post as I need feedback or you dont understand. I dont always get it right but I try. Mistakes are a part of life so I do not get upset or take offence.

Dear Raymond, hopefully you shall be able to feel the strength God can give us to explore His Word. Do not get too much frustrated when you become too tired reading in the Bible, but just take some time to rest and to let your mind linger on what you have read. As such God Words can infiltrate into your soul and shall be able to inspire you.

Success with your exploration of the Bible and your search for the Truth.

Hey there. I read your women in ministry post, and then hopped here to read more. I love your testimony! It’s always so encouraging to hear how people have become Christians and lives have been changed. I also deeply sympathise with you with the debilitating nature of CFS. I really hope and pray for your restoration to full health. It was nice to know more of your story. Blessings!

      Hi Tanya,

Thank you for your comment. I have experienced Jesus working in my life on a daily basis and have never doubted His love for me even when I have been suicidal. So I feel strongly that I should represent Him to the world as a loving Father God. That being said there are set out in the Word principles by which we must operate in order to shine His glory to everyone around us. God cannot trust us with big things if we cannot do the little things like obey His word. I know I come across as harsh and unfeeling which I am not. My concentration span is short due to my condition and therefore I do not have energy for softening the message, plus I am a direct person anyway.

I have removed my note from the women in ministry post as it was not appropriate. I was angry due to what I was seeing being done in Jesus Name which was not becoming and an example to the world as Christians should act. I believe there are larger issues that need our prayer and attention, like abused girls and boys, the poor etc.

May Jesus show you His grace in abundance as you are the apple of His eye and the righteous in His sight always. You can run to Him always and HIS love never changes and He has great plans for you.

      Yours In Christ
      Raymond

I think many of your readers misunderstood the point of the post and my initial comment. The emotion that was being shown was not appropriate in my opinion as it shows pride and selfishness. I know this will sound strange but I will leave this for you to meditate and mull over. One of the questions that should be asked is why was the issue of having female bishops such a major point? what was the real motive behind this cause. I think it is possible that worldly feminism has infiltrated the church. I have a post on The Incredible Worth of a Women the short link is http://wp.me/pVEFC-1ar
      Blessings
